Maybe it is me but why waste our tax dollars prosecuting a foreign entity in a sport that 90% of the people in this country could give a **** about except 2 months every 4 years. We have plenty of crooked politicians and corporations financing those politicians to go after. Oh wait never mind I forgot for a nano second that those crooked politicians have say in your jobs at the justice department even if they aren't supposed to. God Bless America.. We need it desperately.

Here's a good article on why:

http://www.atlredline.com/only-the-a...ifa-1707174748

Basically, we're the only nation who can do it precisely because we do give zero f*cks about the sport. As they say in the article, FIFA is less a sports entity than a sovereign nation, and an extremely corrupt one at that. I laughed at the depiction of the Swiss agreeing to extradition- "We don't extradite for financial crimes- what? It's FIFA? F*ck yeah, you can have those bastards."

Danzig 05-27-2015 12:57 PM

i clicked on the link in that article that said 'why is the us bringing down the hammer on fifa'...
on the one hand it is much ado about soccer...i mean, much as espn tries, many don't care about it.
but, then i remember that al capone got busted for tax evasion...and eff qatar!

Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

Nothing like a contrived, grass roots, spontaneous protest for justice where the protesters show up on the promise of getting paid only to be stiffed by a white man worth over $20 billion. :wf

The insincere, bogus main stream reporting of both Ferguson and Baltimore is shameful. As are most who put a D after their name nowadays.

Bet Rev. 'Master-race-baiter' Al got his money, and some walkin around money on top of that.

i read that a little while ago, and looked at my assistant and asked
how can we have faith in our system, when stories like this keep cropping up? and then i thought back...

and, well, we all already know about ferguson, san francisco, baltimore, etc.

Media making another murderer into a victim. WTF is this country coming to?

Tell you what Jeffery, be happy you're being paroled on a life sentence and will be able to get the surgery leaving the taxpayers of California out of it. Think of it as restitution to the real victim; you know the one you murdered!
