I know you guys are East Coast fans, but do the Yotes have a chance against the Kings.

oh, i'm just a caps fan. of course i've seen far more of east coasters, and next to nothing of teams in the west, but that's just because of scheduling.

kings have gotten hot for sure, but i don't think they'll sweep phx. of course the howls they play in the arena get on my nerves, so i'll probably pull for la! that way i won't have to hear them in the finals...

I can't stand hockey in warm climate cities. I hated it when Dallas cheated to win the Cup in '99, hated the freaking "Mighty" Ducks, and hated the Tampa Bay Lightning. If it hasn't snowed in your city in the last 20 years, you shouldn't have win a cup. Ergo, I'm pro-Rangers, Caps, or Devs in the finals.

Flyers' Holmgren On Bryzgalov: 'it's Not Comedy Central'

Let's not also forget that they pretty much bankrolled their franchise to get him, ala trade carter and richards.
i'm sure you are confident about 'tending this season, you went from used datsuns to a late model honda civic this year... that would seem like a step up to almost anyone.

If find it very interesting that the captain (Pronger) wasn't with the team during the playoffs.

Also I don't think it was necessary for Holmgren to comment about the negatives regarding Bryz to the media. He's going to be a Flyer for a long time and seems like the sensitive type (I know not exactly a good fit for the Philly area) But he really kept them in it against the Devils and Holmgren should have focused on the positives.

his face = the franchise
they bankrolled their whole team on this guy, and he was a flake. +3.80 GAA in the playoffs?
you fahk'n A right he's gonna get called out, this is philly, not des moines

I would have been more apt to call him out if he bombed in the playoffs. The Flyers/League agreed to the HBO show (which got the comedy ball rolling), not Bryz. Besides there were a lot of other guys who disappeared/stunk against the Devils.

Crosby missed a couple playoffs if memory serves, and I don't think he traveled around with the Penguins during that time.

I know one shouldn't scoff at an injury like Pronger's, but honest to goodness, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Dirtiest a-hole this side of <insert Pittsburgh Penguin here> in the NHL.

"my face is everywhere. Everyone is talking about me. 'Bryzgalov played well,' 'Philadelphia won, but Bryz made a mistake again,' 'Yes, he wasn't scored against but could have been'. . . Guys, but who doesn't make mistakes? And how many [pucks] did I catch before then? But very few notice that. People are so concentrated on the negative that they only see the bad in me. But I think you need to be kinder to each other."
welcome to a hockey market pal, this sh!t aint phoenix or anaheim......

Lets hope the new collective bargaining agreement has the one contract buyout clause that they are talking about adding.

slotdirt 05-11-2012 10:57 AM

I'm psyched for this offseason. The Predators alone have like 10 guys who any team should be psyched to sign to a long-term deal. Lots of talk of Detroit adding Parise, but I'm really hoping they bring in Semin, who I think would fit with their Euros and perhaps just needs a fresh start out of DC. Ryan Suter is a given.

if you get him, i hope the moments of brilliance make up for the many moments of torture. not sure if i want him to stay or go, he's quite an enigma.

and i don't know if it's hate so much as just wondering what they were thinking?! lol i'd rank it with 'rocky top' when watching U of T games. just somewhat bizarre.
and i had thought the panthers growl was ridiculous, but i think the coyote howl is worse.

arizonadave 05-11-2012 09:59 PM

and the other problem is they keep winning when everyone said they shouldnt be here.sure hear that howl alot.

For those who are watching, enjoy the game.

As for me, I have the unenviable task of keeping Golfer sane throughout tonight.

You couldn't have picked a better team to face in a G7. The Caps have the worst history of playoff heartbreak in the sport, and maybe any sport, bar none. My only glimmer of hope is they already won a G7 on the road against the defending champions, so maybe this team is different...but I doubt it.

I'm not sure I'd be betting on an empty net goal. It is probably more like "Who will score the winner in the 4th OT?"

like they say about mutual funds, past performance is no guarantee of future results. capitals have exhibited a lot of tenacity this entire post-season. i don't expect them to go gently into that good night. if the rangers escape, they will have had to earn it.

Danzig 05-12-2012 09:50 PM

that had to be the worst power play performance in the history of hockey.

MaTH716 05-12-2012 10:19 PM

Tremendous series by both teams. Bring on the Devils!

Danzig 05-12-2012 10:20 PM

oh, well. it was fun while it lasted.

maybe next year.

go phx or la.

deltagulf 05-13-2012 09:42 AM

i believe its l.a. year they beat the top 2 teams in the west in just 9 games
and with j.q. in goal

deltagulf 05-13-2012 09:46 AM

can't pull for phoenix they beat my blackhawks

arizonadave 05-13-2012 09:53 AM
