Anything is yummy when I'm sloshed. Where do you recommend going for good food?

blackthroatedwind 06-26-2007 11:32 PM

I've already shared my food thoughts about Saratoga......and they don't include most of the places people like.

Just load up at the Carolina Barbeque.

Have a nice night... I'm toasted and it will only go downhill from here.

To each his own...I love the ambiance of both Grey Gelding & Tiznows. Both cook a good filet and the GG has a good wine list.

I haven't eaten at the Grey Gelding but I had drinks there the last time I was in town.

Tiznow is a nice place but I give up on their food. I've eaten there a few times and I just don't like it.

Honestly I don't think anything in Saratoga matches up to my favorite spots in Newport, RI and because of this I stick with my main staples of Cobb Salads or filets which are pretty hard to screw up if you cook it med rare.

I do think the Horseshoe and Parting Glass seem dirty.

That food thread from last year is classic.

I had no idea people actually ATE at Gaffney's!

I like the Ripe Tomato out near Malta. As a group we tried Doc's Steakhouse last year for the first time. It was okay, but I'm not sure we'd go back.

Looking for a dinner spot for Thursday/Friday of Travers Week. Any suggestions taken as we're looking to try some new spots.

Scav & Cajun -
Our office just got faxed an ad for Executive Transport near the Airport. They charge $55/hr for car service or $65/hr for a Tahoe all vehicles are black with tinted windows to truly give you that pimped out feeling. Here is the number if you're interested 518-669-4373.

That's it? That's almost less than a cab. Thanks for the info, Sight!
