One has nothing to do with the other. The Devils own the boards this series and G's act was purely out of frustration with the refs. The boards have NOTHING to do with G's suspension.

With that said, i like them to rally around the loss of G tonight for a hard fought win. Look for Hartsy and Co. to come out finishing checks and scrappin along the boards, something we've strayed from in this series. With a win tonight, we can gain some momentum back in our favor, get the shot in the arm with G playing like a man on fire in game 6, with Game 7 up for grabs to the hungriest team. Wishful thinking, but this team has been in this position before and isnt out of it until the horn sounds. NOW, IF WE CAN ONLY TAKE OUR COLLECTIVE HEADS FROM OUR ASSES.

I haven't watched every minute of the series, but from what i've seen Hartnell and Simmonds just seem to be invisible. It really has hurt the Flyers, because I think Hartnell is the leader, heart and soul of that team. He was in the middle of everything against the Pens and he just isn't strirring the Flyers drink like he usually does.

Also Jagr might show up on some milk cartons around Philly as well, he's been a absolute non-factor.

slotdirt 05-08-2012 01:53 PM

Lots of speculation that Jagr is hurt. Or really old. Or both. He needs to regrow the mullet.

Wait..........Jagr still plays for us??! I thought he stayed in Pittsburgh. Seriously though, he looks to be playing with quick-crete in his skates.

Hartsy's ugly a$$ better start ruffling some feathers or Lavy wont give him another career year by putting him on the top line lol

Def needs the mullet back so we can start whistling at him every time he touches the puck. I miss those days.

His disappearance coincides with me getting his autograph a few weeks ago. Im certain of it.

declansharbor 05-08-2012 02:02 PM

My biggest fear with Jagr has turned into reality, the fact that he would wear down when we needed him most.

MaTH716 05-08-2012 08:09 PM

Bryz :zz:

MaTH716 05-08-2012 09:38 PM

Terrible penalty for Van Riemsdyke to take, now they are on life support.

MaTH716 05-08-2012 10:32 PM

Pretty dominate performance by the Devils. They made a good Flyers team look bad. Thirty goals against the Pens in the first round versus only eleven against the Devils. If Jersey plays like this, they are going to be very tough to beat (no matter who plays them).

That looked like the classic, mid-90's Devils out there during this series, though Kovalchuk and Parise are better players than any one guy they had in, say, 1995.

Danzig 05-09-2012 09:00 PM

our guys have got to control their sticks. a high stick double minor cost us dearly monday, and here we are again.

lundqvist playing very well, as always. tough nut to crack.

If holtby is this good, why the **** was he in the minors all season?

because some guy named vokoun convinced the caps office he could take us to the promised land.
holtby had his moments last year...they called him up mid-season this year just to try to spark the team, but he didn't have a great showing then actually. kids got a ton of talent. he's experienced post-season play with hershey...and he's a reason why varly went to colorado, we had several good young goalies, and he wanted the guarantee of #1 and the money to go with it. but he, neuvy and even holtby had times where they showed their youth all too much.

holtby has done very, very well-but i think he's also gotten a lot of help with the great D that the caps have been exhibiting. i look forward to watching his career unfold.
neuvirth probably curses marco sturm daily.

killing that double minor was huge for this team tonite. already feeling good, that only adds to their momentum.

Rangers should start shooting blocker side

Don't get me wrong, it's very good. But he does embellish every save.

not so sure that it's embellishment. he tends to go after the puck rather than let it come to the glove, so it does look a bit different than with some goalies. i doubt kolzig will try to make him change it tho. if it ain't broke and all that.

Danzig 05-09-2012 10:08 PM

well, darn. was hoping he'd get his first playoff shutout.

need more of the same saturday night.

No problem, you sure you only need 2?

slotdirt 05-10-2012 10:48 AM

Lunqvist has lost two playoffs series to the Caps where the Caps had a rookie goaltender in net. Will this series be the third?

kind sir,

i believe i asked for seats near the "glass" not netting, and i'm only interested in tickets at MSG, not Lawg-Iy-Land

FTFY

You can point blame on a lot of people on that team, Number 30 is not one of them.

I'm sorry, you didn't specify that. But, forget the glass, you could have sat on the damn bench at the mausoleum.

I will look into it, for $200 I could probably find you a view on the glass like this.

But I do gaurentee that you will be within 3 blocks of the Garden, you know what better make that 9 blocks................................

Need Dub's back, not quite but almost as bad as going without Callahan. He is the only big forward that can skate well enough to do something in front. Gotta get Richards line going again, I would put Kreider back with them and let Hagelin have some room to motor against weaker.

Dubi hasn't skated since the injury, so it most likely isn't happening. I thought Torts needed to shuffle the lines up last night and he didn't. They looked very slow last night, I think all the games are starting to take a toll on a team that isn't too fast to start with. He really needs to get Krieder on the ice more. Also someone else besides the Richard's line needs to step up and fill the net.

Agreed, but it would be nice to get him, HUGE part of the team. Every shot goes right at the chest/mitt, they are insanely slow and when up a man lose the ability to do what they do best and work the boards. Switching Kreider up and getting Hagelin on with Boyle might be a nice swap IMO.

Only one team gets to win the last game, this year it is either NY or NJ.

Of course not, that being said the playoffs haven't been his shining moment. They need him to step up.
