I think a lot depends on what age you are when you get married and maturity.

I wouldn't be surprised if 75% of young married men (in their 20's) cheated or slipped up once.

I would expect men who marry in their 30's and older to be more ready for marriage and the commitment.. maybe more like 40% of them.

I doubt the percentage of serial cheaters is too too high.. maybe 15% cheat whenever they get the chance and are always looking for the next one.

Women would be opposite though.. I would guess 30-50% of women have cheated at some point.. but I would expect older women to cheat more than younger women.

People get used to the relationship, they have children.. settle into the family life.. only getting laid by their spouse a few times a year cause the "spark" is gone.. and when someone else showers them with affection, people do the wrong thing. Some couples are married for a LONG LONG time..


I'm all for open marraiges or relationships or whatever.. as long as both people are completely okay with it and it doesnt get out of control.

75% may be a little high.. but no way would I put it lower than 60%. and remember thats the young crowd, tons of marriages start for the wrong reasons anyway.

I would be willing to bet in almost all divorces either the man or woman strayed at one point. It could have been the reason for the divorce or it could have been when "they were struggling with the relationship".

When you dont love or really care for your partner anymore.. I'm sure that makes cheating much easier.

I dont know why any married man would go to a club in the first place? As someone who is married and aware and respectful what that word means, its the last place in the world I want to be. I mean its like going shopping with no money or credit cards. Why bother? I would say most married men who frequent upscale clubs do so with the intent to cheat, why else would they possibly put themselves in such a stupidly precarious situation.

I think your percentages are definitley of the high side.
I do agree with your thinking as far as the guys getting married very young eventually cheating.
But I disagree with your serial cheating thinking. My feeling is once they do it and get away with it, then eventually start thinking that they could do it whenever they want and always get away with it.

I dont know how it is for the older generations, but sex is kinda like brushing your teeth for the younger generations. The #'s and %'s are only getting worse. Maybe it has something to do with religion having less and less influence on the American generations, but it could just be TV & entertainment.

It isn't TV and entertainment. People just know more about it, more educated, and they know if you wrap up you get to party and have some fun.

I dont know... sex is ALL over TV, magazines, all people care about is the sex lives of the famous.. open internet explorer and you may see some "big butt latin girls doing DP".

Sex doesnt have much meaning to many younger people anymore. Its just something to do to "get a nut"
