Tonights game will be tough for the Yotes.Hell the whole series will be.

Danzig 05-02-2012 09:53 PM

one bad thing about the post season on nbc.....too many commercials! games take sooo much longer than in the regular season.

For the first time in the series I feel like the Caps are the better team tonight. The Rangers are going to need Hank to steal this one.

Danzig 05-02-2012 10:11 PM

they just put up the ot stats for both; a betting man would go with the caps off what they just said.

all i know is i have to get up at 5:30 so i hope this doesn't last too long! er, central time that is. you're worse off than i am!

Brian Boyle just came inches away from dying on the ice. Seriously, about 2 inches to his right and it would have been a disaster.

been some brutal blocks of shots. that was way too close. and him just getting over a concussion...not good. looks like it didn't catch just his face, but his shoulder too.

and i still remember when they didn't wear helmets-and let the old timers go without when they passed the rule. rod langway obviously was crazy.

Danzig 05-02-2012 10:56 PM

and i sure thought ovie had won the thing.

shower time.

Yeah, but the game wasn't nearly as fast and physical (not talking about fighting) and they didn't shoot the puck as hard as they do now.

Kind of feel like the Rangers got a reprieve here, the Caps had the game on their sticks twice already, only to miss the net and hit the post.

Curved sticks. Semin shoots notoriously high. Rangers are running out of players. Mcdonagh wasn't right after the hit, Hank takes out Girardi with a high stick...:zz:

I still don't understand if Torts doesn't trust Bickel, why not dress Eminger? They need Gaborik to show up here at some point.

declansharbor 05-02-2012 11:03 PM

Great game right now.

Between AO's post hit and the turnover in front of 30, it's a wild one.

golfer 05-02-2012 11:18 PM

Can't make this **** up, Rupp would have ended it, but hit Boyle in the leg:zz:

golfer 05-02-2012 11:40 PM

I can't decide if neither team deserves to lose, or if neither deserves to win?

MaTH716 05-02-2012 11:40 PM

Next stop triple ot.

i'd choose the former, but someone has to lose. and a loss in a game like this sticks in your craw.

This is both ridiculous and fantastic. Yet another great reason to live in mountain time!

MaTH716 05-03-2012 12:07 AM

Twice the Caps have caught a break with the snow removal at the 10 minute mark after icings.

Danzig 05-03-2012 12:14 AM

Still a long way to go here. Really a great game on both sides, didn't have the feel of a 1-1 game.

Danzig 05-03-2012 09:46 AM

i saw an article the other day, during the first round, where a writer called the caps/bruins games 'boring' because it was low-scoring. seriously? that round, and this one, has been anything but boring to me. you know something can happen at any time, with players working their tails off to make a difference. he's probably one of those who likes high-scoring, zero defense football games. i hate those games!
i think he was a yahoo sports writer, so that probably explains a lot.

Most of those guys have no clue. He probably didn't even watch the game and saw 1-1 score and wrote an article assuming that it was a boring game. The only thing that game didn't have last night was a lot of whistles slowing down the pace of the game. Otherwise it was a well played exciting game, that guy had no idea what he's talking about. I sat at the end of the couch for the last 4 periods.

On a side note, I'm kind of suprised that the series hasn't been very chippy. Not a lot of pushing and shoving after the whistles. It's almost like these teams have tremendous respect for each other.

Danzig 05-03-2012 10:04 AM

i'm sure part of the lack of pushing and shoving is no one wants to get a penalty and give the other team a power play. it's so close and even, the slightest mistake can cost you more than a goal, it can cost you the game. i love their self-control, regardless of the physicality.
been a great post season this year imo. last year i was so sick about the sweep by tampa that i didn't watch another game. been far more enjoyable for me this year.
