I doubt she increased her Beyer today, but given that she lost training a few weeks ago, was coming off a layoff, and considering the trip she got, she ran a terrific race.

As far as the sarcasm of outrunning her odds, she had no business opening up at 2-5. Regardless, I believe that there is better ahead for her and if she can learn to relax more and change her leads correctly, there is certainly much better in her future.

still plenty of upside in this horse. i'm thrilled. i don't know of anyone who has bought in who isn't thrilled.

thanks (again) to steve, chuck et al. your hard work is much appreciated. thanks most of all to the filly, who is providing thrills a minute!

It was just a suggestion, and is pretty logical actually. This horse will be a killer if you can find a starter allowance series somewhere.

Now you're talking.

I doubt anyone wishes sumone or anyone in the partnership ill will. We would all love to see her run and win. Its very exciting seeing people enjoy their ownership experience. Its a very rare occasion you get a filly like her for the amount of money they paid

no, i don't think it's wishing ill will. i think it's just a gloating type thing, or like those who hope that someones posted bet loses, so they can rub it in a little. neener neener, you were wrong type stuff.

The Bid 07-11-2007 06:20 PM

I havent seen that either. Anyone whos part of this forum wish all the partners the best

Storm Cadet 07-11-2007 06:20 PM

To all the connections: SWLY ran her guts out today. You all should be VERY proud! To break out on top like she did and battle again to take the lead was IMPRESSIVE. She showed she's still improving, learning each race. Tough to win on the lead on poly, but she almost did it. The horse that beat her rated in fourth or fifth most of the race and went 3-4 wide to beat her.

Next time guys! Congrats again to all the owners, Steve and trainer for a great job! Hope to see her race at Saratoga soon!:D

While it's no guarentee she enters the gate at the spa, I do think it's a guarantee she'll have a bigger entourage than Sheik Rashid did at last year's Travers Stakes.

I hope the other partners loved on her lots for all of us who couldn't be there today. As always Chuck, we appreciate all you do in the continued success of Dee-Tee Stables.

Now if you excuse me, I have a nasty letter to write to United Airlines.

and like i said, today has been nothing like in the past--there have been a few on here, esp after her debut, who thought it was just hilarious.

Congrats everyone .... spoke to Byk briefly after the race and it sounds as though she came out of the race fine.

I loved how happy Sumwon looked when running on the lead before those two longshots ran up to each side of her. She had her ears up and was just rolling along...you can tell she really loves it out there.

Of course not, because it's pretty clear that you have some weird vendetta against the stable. My hunch is that had she won you would've been railing about how she got a clear lead or how she was "supposed to win" or some bullshit like that.

I said she ran well, what more should I say, she should be in the alabama....

look I didnt make her 7/5, so she ran better then I thought, maybe not to the publics estimation though of just short of odds on.

i think this is a fair post......she has definately been a "10 pnt move up" in this barn......I thought she was a horrid underlay at 7/5, and since she lost want I right?

phystech 07-11-2007 07:25 PM

Another nice race by Sumwon!!! I was very pleased again to see her gutsy effort and her willingness to keep trying. That's a tough commodity to come by in a horse and it is a very valuable one to have. I love to win races but I also don't mind milking a condition for all it is worth.....

For those who seem to take exception to some comments in this thread - why even bother? There's always going to be someone somewhere who finds fault in something. Given that forums like these are built on second-guessers and negative thinkers, we as owners of a very nice horse should easily be able to accept the criticism. We're getting to walk a few footsteps in the shoes of others who have owned much better horses than we do and yet they get blasted for every move they make. If you are going to be an owner with a highly publicized horse, you've got to have thick skin - and a good calculator while you count your purse money.....

Thanks go out to Chuck and crew for another job well done!!!!!!

Congrats to all of you folks and to your special girl. She is fun to watch. My wife was even rooting her on and she isn't even much into horse racing. I really hope to see her in Saratoga!! Great Job!

Sightseek 07-11-2007 07:41 PM

Just a question for those who play Arlington Park on a regular basis - do you not want to be right on the rail? I noticed Sumwon was 3 wide the whole race. (and I mean this as no knock on Willie, he is really good with her!)

Emily works for them.

Address it to her......and make it extra special mean.

Trust me, she deserves it.

i'll try to remember that. one of my strengths/weaknesses is that i am loyal to a fault. i can take criticism directed towards me, but not so much if it's directed to anyone i have a connection to. i admit it! is there a 12 step program for that??
