Default Sea Hero

Sea Hero has passed away. Often mentioned in "worse Derby winners" threads, but note that he won the Champagne (5.75 lengths), Kentucky Derby (2.5 lengths), and Travers (2 lengths) all by open lengths...

Rightfully so, likely to be many a poignant moment in the paddock at Saratoga this summer.

Feels like he was one of the last really good Mack Miller/Rokeby horses along with You’d Be Surprised.

His Derby Win was the first Derby I ever watched and I remember betting against him the following year in an allowance race on turf. It’s always cool to see his statue in the Saratoga paddock.

Vaguely remember Surly hitting a big pick 6 when he won the Travers. Glory Days. Always loved those Rokeby silks. Great times at Saratoga in those days for all.
