Kid Chocolate exits race needing tie back surgery..
Frustrating setback.. Luis Reyes returned to Gary Friday saying in addition to not caring for the softish turf, Kid Chocolate had made a great deal of noise breathing. (Usually known as roaring). When scoped post race it was shown he was suffering from RLN, the paralyzed larynx syndrome that inhibits breathing and requires tie back surgery.
Very pleased that Dr. Normand Ducharme of Cornell, literally the inventor of tie back surgery, will do Kid Chocolate’s procedure this week. He was coming downstate to do another, so we couldn’t be luckier in that regard. Figure to lose about 6 weeks for recovery time, so he should be ready for Saratoga.

Dr. Ducharme texted that Kid is out of surgery and everything went well. He was catching flight and will call me with details tonight.
