Default Somebeachsomewhere: 1:46.4 -- WOW!!!

Quote:
Somebeachsomewhere drew away from his Bluegrass foes with one mission in mind: become the fastest Standardbred ever. He and driver Paul MacDonell valiantly attacked the 1:46.4 race record and managed to equal that mark with a victory at The Red Mile on Saturday afternoon (September 27).

Unbelieveable performance for SBSW again, this time at The Red Mile. I still don't know if we have seen the best of this kid, but it sure is fun watching...

This colt is kind of scary -- in that he does what he does and makes it look so easy. I remember watching Artsplace who was very similar in that regard. Different type of action, but effortless. On the other hand, Nihilator was a bit funny or trappy gaited up front, wasn't really fluid up front, etc.

Anyway, this horse is without question a true champion. One of the greats. He proved just as much in his lone defeat as he did in all of his wins.
