Default Fab strike

If Fabulous Strike is actually doing as well as his trainer Todd Beattie believes, he should have an impact in Sunday's Grade 1, $400,000 Vosburgh Stakes at six furlongs.

Who does drugs root for when 2 of his favs match up?

I'm trying but I just don't see this horse having a chance at all.

no chance?!
could you expand on that? what in particular about him do you find that brings you to that conclusion? or is it just a matter of no horse stands a chance against Discreet Cat.

Discreet Cat.

Fabulous Strike has yet to prove he can handle hot fractions and stay on - and he's yet to prove he can rate and be as effective as he needs to be to win a race like the Vosburgh.

I made several visits to the backside to see him - and he certainly looks outstanding. Dick Beattie, who was deputizing for an absent Todd Beattie, has been raving about how well he's been doing each and every time I went back to see him.

FS and I have become good friends - but Discreet Cat is the Chuck Norris of thoroughbreds.

His win at Monmouth last out was very impressive visually - however, I think he took advantage of a favorable trip and the pace certainly wasn't as fast as the raw fraction looks - when you consider the times the track was yielding that day.

He's a nice horse - but I doubt he has enough to finish any better than 3rd.

I see Yonegwa in entered in a stake in Albq. New Mexico this weekend.

Awesome.. lets see how that works..

• If you ask Discreet Cat what time it is, he always says, "Two seconds 'til." After you ask, "Two seconds 'til what?" he roundhouse kicks you in the face.

• Discreet Cat drives an ice cream truck covered in human skulls.

• When Discreet Cat sends in his taxes, he sends blank forms and includes only a picture of himself, crouched and ready to attack. Discreet Cat has not had to pay taxes, ever.

• The quickest way to a man's heart is with Discreet Cat' fist.

I didn't know it was a requirement to have past performances before one can determine if they think a certain horse might be a factor in a race. But as always, you are correct. I suppose that if I told you today that La Traviata is going next in the BC Classic, you wouldn't be able to discount her chances until after you see the pps.

Sometimes, I like to do radical things like look at a projected field during the week leading to a race and try to figure out who I might like in that race. For example, if I knew Commentator was going to be in the Vosburgh, I would say that I didn't think he had a chance at all. Why? Because I've seen him run in top sprint races before. I don't need to see any pps to know what Commentator does. Same with Fabulous Strike. He's not going to have an easy time of it like he did in some of his big performances and I see him doing a fold job like he did in Florida when he's challenged up front.

You went from " tried to like him " to that bunch of malarky?

The La Traviata example was killer!

A combination of both. I don't like Fabulous Strike's chances of getting and holding the lead here against the type of pace he's likely to encounter based on which horses are currently projected to be entered (hope that wording it that way satisfies Master BTW). I thought his fade in Florida showed more than his wins in WV and Kentucky. I also feel that if Discreet Cat is anywhere close to 100%, the race is over already.
