Big Brown is the best horse in the country. He wins the Florida Derby easily.

This is easily the most interesting field for a 3-yo derby prep.
Unless it's a swamp like last weekend, this will be a great betting race, and you really have no idea where the money is going to go.
I assume Big Brown will be the favorite, and if he gets a post-position draw somewhere between 1 and 5, that's probably where my money will be going, too.
Very interested to see Tomcito, Hey Byrn, Smooth Air and Elysium Fields, as well.

i am confused by this post ? no idea where the money will go, are you kidding me ? he will be lower then 2-1, big brown is going to get pounded at the window, and he may win, but there is no value at all betting him in this spot.

This race is a little bit like the dirt version of the San Felipe.

In the San Felipe you had three very interesting horses in Georgie Boy, Bob Black Jack, and Gayego all stretching out making there routing debuts on the derby trail. And you had one interesting foreign mystery horse in Shediak.

In the Florida Derby you have three horses all making there debuts in derby trail Stake races in Big Brown, Hey Byrn, and Face The Cat - you have one interesting foreign mystery horse in Tomcito. You also get Elysium Fields as an added bonus in this one.

4-5 lifetime, beating older horses as a 2 year old.

dont like big brown, or hey byrn at all, dont like smooth air, think face the cat is talented, but this might be to much to soon for him

There may not be value, but he simply may be the best horse in the race. The interesting part is the mystery surrouding tomcito, hey byrn, etc..
You may get 10-1 on a horse like Face the Cat or Smoot Air who certainly could end up being something special.

what kind of odds do you think we get on Elysium Fields ?
if he 7-2 or higher i might just put all my weekend betting money on him.

Once again, im going to defer(sp) to the others on this board that pointed out Elysium Fields earlier this year. With a better post then he got in foy i think he can win this race. Im a big Tagg fan after funny cide and always take him serious when he even says his horse has a little talent and i think that some on here have said that Tagg has thought highly of this one for a good bit of time. I guess the mystery is what makes Tomicito interesting and he is really the wild card in this race but it looks like a good betting race.

on one of the drf.com blogs they have posted speed figures of this years major derby preps, the fountain of youth is the second highest number 98, only lower then the rebel and dennis of pork............in my opinion if there is any decent price on Elysium Fields, i am unloading on him, i will even take 5-2 thats how much the best i think he can be this sat.

At least you're getting the opinion now and not prior to the big one so the mush can be effectively handled in a prep rather than when it counts.

I guess that's the bright side.
