Unf'nbelievable. I think it is cool to play other events in plays like Wrigley, Fenway and Yankee Stadium, but don't touch a sign that has been red since the inception of time, more so ****ing purple.

Honestly I don't think it's that big of a deal. You would think that they repaint that sign red before every season. It's not like it was the original paint job from the inception. Now if you said that they were cutting down the ivy, then you would have a case.

There are things that you just don't **** with, that are sacred, ****ing with that sign is like ****ing with Touchdown Jesus at Notre Dame or painting the green monster ****ing yellow.

Scavs when I think about Wrigley, I think about the ivy (obviously I'm not from Chicago) and not to rub it in, but the fact that it seems like the Cubs are really cursed.
I also think that the sign versus things like the monster and TD Jesus are a very poor comparison.

No it isn't, it has been there longer then the comedy ivy, and it is very much a part of Chicago.

Northwestern is in f'n Evanston.

Be mad at the Cubs, apparently the sign was their idea.

Well I don't go there, but I follow and thanks so much.

Letting Nike dictate uniform changes to Ohio State made me realize nothing will ever be as good as it was.

I am mad at the Cubs, I already refuse to go to home games until they win a home playoff game for showing absolutely ZERO heart in their last playoff series, getting swept.

What letter do you play when you spell out OHIO STATE.

I figure you for a 'O' or a 'T'

I've got to agree with Scav on this one, that sign not being red is not right.

But then again, I thought it was VERY wrong to install lights at that historic stadium... It's all about marketing now, tradition is only respected if it makes

This is the kind of cr@p that makes me feel old

I am taking breaks here as I am writing one VERY long story...not for pub. here, though.

You have weird thoughts..which is good.

I don't deserve a letter...so I let them do what they want.

Hey girl!!

Kind of thought you might agree.

Age has nothing to do with it....it's what's in your heart.

Someone told me as much...and they were right.

tom, you're worried about painting a sign? what about the safety of the players? who in the hell layed out that field and thought it was a good idea!? padded walls against the sidelines and end zone. like an arena league game? and the big10 cleared that?? are you kidding me?
two teams no one cares about in a baseball stadium with a losing history, BFD.
more insulting is Army playing the domers in new yankee stadium. it has NO history at all. you want history? make the domers come to west point.

Civil and some other kind of engineers deemed it safe. Wilbon was on the committee for this I guess and he said that all the information said that it was safe for them.

I have no idea and don't really care. I will watch the first quarter and then probably turn it off

The Bears called it home for 50 years.
