That is awesome. They should air an 11th episode that covers the Horseplayer World Series if they have footage!

Peter and Lee were the first people I met out there, as they were right in front of me as I checked in. They were super friendly, and seemed to relish the spotlight. Ran into them again early Saturday morning in the sportsbook, and watched the UAE derby with them. Of course they had Toast of New York, and I got to experience the program slapping first hand. Peter told me that their strategy for the tournament coming in was nothing under 20-1, and because of that, I think they struggled the first 2 days.

Wonder if Helmers had a Georgia entry too...

Seems his pooling of entries/partnerships grows every tourney.

Finally had a chance to catch some of this show. Very amusing to someone like me - nonbettor (can't bet in GA) but has an interest in it and also love just watching the races. I think this show is really amusing. The characters don't come off particularly seedy or "degenerate" - it's very much like watching the poker tournies. The Hellmers guy reminds me of every Burning Man attending person I've EVER met, so I don't find his antics as weird or off putting as much as someone who is unfamiliar with those types might. He's obviously quite smart and able to schmooze like any salesman might. As long as he's not turning into a Meydoff with people's "investments" then more power to him. I wish we could see more of the "why" they do particular picks and how their handicapping works. Overall, enjoyable for an uneducated bettor like myself. Fwiw, I hate reality shows. This one seems more cognitive than a reality show - if you look past the characters.

I just caught up on the show last night and watched episode 10. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope that it comes back for a season 2.

I wonder how the show did on the ratings front. Does anyone know if it was considered a success? Any news on a second season?

I hope it returns - thought it was great.

Yikes.

Hopefully Esquire follows the CW method of renewing shows.
