Buffy,
I had to go back to find it...I think it started with "cucumbers".
Miss Stormy's pictures in response to Bellamy Road.
Then it went to potatoes...then it kind of took off from there.
Anyway, today I got two perfectly matched acorn squashes. They're a little bit wrinkled and green but I'm sure they'll be plenty sweet after they get hot and I pour some maple syrup on them.
Tomorrow I'll give suggestions for a food topic that the ladies will find interesting...plums, grapes, and walnuts.

Now Buffy,
I'm really not a priest but I play one in real life...
Should I start a "confession" thread?

LOL!
It's a joke at the farm, where there is a pony named Misty that has put on a whole lot of weight...and everyone that sees her says, " Who said ya can't get fat on vegetables?"

Good luck on Sunday. If I was in the stands you'd hear me howling.
Just don't show up at mass that way before the big event.

Also, some people have been coming up with good names here today (Toss the Feather in "selections"). I'll add "In the Buff" to the list I'm writing.

Oh there is a name for a race horse "In the Buff" I wonder if it would pass as a name?

No mass for me this weekend...

P.S. I will let ya know how we do. It is a hunter show. Thinking I may have a shot at the pleasure class and the over fences. Equitation not so much a good shot. One of the girls I am riding against also rides at my barn. She has AWESOME equitation. I know I won't beat her. I am just looking for that blue ribbon! I want one soooo bad! If I have to ride Buck Naked to get one, I will! Maybe that would help in the equitation class, ya think?

I would love to say yes, but it seems like the riders who take the extra time in dressing up by wearing show coats always win the classes around here. You'll see me in the 100 degree weather wearing full breeches and a show coat... anything to have the edge. Good luck at your show... I've got one next month.

At the May show, I was the only one in full dress. They called "jackets optional" I was the only one who wore mine. Mine is already in my jacket bag ready to go. Good luck next month. What kind of show are you doing?

Buffy,
If it's 100 degrees, that's how I'd ride. Cajun is right about dressing up for it but I'm sure that if you ride the way you have to to get a blue ribbon, you'll probably get one...and maybe more than that!
Just get yourself "comfortable".
Good luck!

GOHJA... aka Greater Orlando Hunter Jumper Association. I'm doing the 3'6" hunter class this time around. I'm kind of nervous... haven't shown hunter in a long time.

Cajun,
You'll do just fine. 3'6" hunters are a bit scarey, so just build up to it.
Most folks have no clue what it feels like when you launch.
Just go with it, and let your horse know you have as much confidence in him as he should in you. Know when to release, when to gather...heels down.
Best of luck!
Let us know how you do. I'm sure you'll be fine.
