Default 2009 Contest Final Results

I hope all of your enjoyed the contest. I have found it to be a heck of a lot of fun to administer, and really very interesting to see the results.

The file attached has last years numbers as well as this year, and it's quite interesting to see how similar they are, except for the winners.

Last year as a group, we were 138/1102 for a win rate of 12.5%
This year we were 260/2151 for 12.1%

So, don't quite your day job!

And the winners for 2009 are:

FIRST PLACE: GOLFER 9/36 with a ROI of 0.86

SECOND PLACE: CANNON SHELL 8/36 with a ROI of 0.48

THIRD PLACE: PWEISER 5/36 with a ROI of 0.37

Golfer established a leading position early and extended his lead down the stretch. All the while Cannon and Pweiser waited until late in the contest and made bold moves to the finish.

Please PM me your contact info and addresses for prizes!!!!!

Spyder out!!!!!!!!!!!

Spyder, thank you for running a great contest. Last year, I had just 3 winners out of 36 picks. This year, I started off with 3 out of the first 4, so the pressure to do better than last year was lifted early.

I want to thank my friend Scav, who shared his Spa opinions with me, which I then completely ignored

Chuck had me a bit concerned when I saw he still had 25 selections left for the final week, but we all seemed to get a strong case of seconditis near the end of the meet.

Good news: I put real money on almost all of my selections.

Bad news: those were NOT the only wagers I made.

Congrats Golfer, well done. Spyder thanks again for running the contest. It was fun, next year I'll be a little more selective so not to run out of bullets later on.

Thanks again Spyder for the contest. Congrats to Golfer who extended his lead late, winning under wraps. I cant believe I finished ahead of many much better handicappers than me, including Paul who was third.

What about a Kentucky Downs contest?

There are prizes?

Nice job Chuck, you should get a new gig as a handicapper if you don't mind the paycut, congrats to all cappers that finished in the black also.

I think it was luck more than anything.
I'm more clueless than the Beulah twins, though i may be thinner than them now.

Thanks for all your hard work. I had to drop my racing habit for awhile because of "family issues" but hope to come back strong at BC time!

Thanks to Spydee for the tremendous effort on the Contest once again...

Congratulations to Golfer, Chuck and Paul on the top finishes and the huge contingent who participated. Another great Spa season in the books!
