A sad opening day for the NY Mets and all baseball.

A great ballplayer and even better human being.. The Rusty Staub Foundation: http://www.rustystaubfoundation.com/

And remember that Rusty founded (!) the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund: http://www.answerthecall.org/

Wonderful tribute from NYT's Ben Hoffman who makes it obvious that Staub is a Hall of Famer: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/29/s...tatistics.html

I remember him playing when he was with the Astros, he actually signed with the Colt .45s. He had a stat about playing the most games in a season as a teenager or something. I remember him to be very big and tall and really, really red hair.Him, jimmy wynn, joe morgan....giants, freakin giants

Rest In Peace Mr. Staub

Default Eternal Orange

Was at Bob weir and Phil lesh concert a couple of weeks ago at the Wang and it was a very cool eclectic crowd who braved the snow for the show. A big red haired guy with an old expos hat came into the lobby and I said to wifey “ look honey, it’s la grande orange. We all had a nice chuckle. Guy says he meets so many people when he wears the hat, that he always wears it to concerts and games. Says his dad gave him the hat cause he was a redhead too and the love people had for Rusty was huge and genuine. I always liked him when I was a kid. Him and Boog Powell were the red headed fan faves in the seventies.
Rest In Peace Rusty Staub.
