Riot,

For me it will be a last minute decision. I am qualified for the NHC online Handicapping contest this Saturday so I cannot leave until after the contest is over, which then leaves no flights to either city Sat eve. If I can get an internet connection at CD that might change things somewhat.

My Step Daughter works for USAIRways and I can fly standby which is a risky proposition out of both Lex and Louisville this Sunday. Cincinnatti looks like it might work but not sure about the driving distances to CD.

If not I'll be in an OTB in Virginia rooting her home, but would rather be there.

NC Tony

If the race fills and Sumwon goes, then I will go.

Assuming that I survive the race, I will be up for dinner and socializing afterwards, with Chuck and his SO, and anyone else... just no guarantee how coherent I will be.

Mostly likely...will be at the Fort Plain OTB again to root her on with the usual crew (me, fpsoxfan & the "injured" estreetposse)
plus some others since the race is on the weekend.

If Sumwon wins, it's nothing at all.

If she doesn't win, it's way too long. (No pressure, Chuck... or Sumwon)

It was a little over 1900 miles by air last time. I'm taking a different route this time. Thank goodness I don't have to drive it.

It's a good thing for me that this race is on the week-end... I only have to make up one day of work, instead of three if it were in the middle of the week. Hope the race fills!

Wow, congrats on the contest! Good luck!

Cincinnati is about an hour plus from Louisville, airport is on SW side of city with easy direct interstate access to L'ville. If you have 3 hours from landing to post time you'd make it (rental car pickup, etc). Yes, doubt you could find a standby seat home, however. Maybe decent chance out of Lex, though, as KEE ends Friday and everyone moves over to L'ville.

Geesh, did you win a DT hat for that? The longest in miles? (although I think Ed and Steve won the longest drive )

Sorry you can't make it this time.

Pdrift had a 10 hour drive each way (I think he said Minnesota). So we should have had a prize for longest drive.

No, I didn't win a hat. I already had a hat. And I have been wearing that hat ever since for luck and refuse to take it off until Sumwon wins.

Un,

It was great to meet you and keep that hat on! The results of the draw should be out soon (anyone know when?)

I don't know and it's killing me.

I think I need to negotiate an agreement with my employer that they won't expect me to function at work when Sumwon is entered in a race.
