11 career TDs
9 career tackles
8 career receptions
5 career rushes

Those have to be some of the more unusual numbers of all time.

You do, the football team...

If I were to cheer for SIU football i would be considered a fair weather fan and that I can't do. I never supported them when they were 1-10.

I could play the "I went to School there" card but I refuse. I had this conversation yesterday actually at tailgating

No surprises here, move along.

Hester is not only easily the best return guy in the game right now, he's quite possibly the most explosive return man EVER.
Gayle Sayers was pretty explosive returning kicks.

Hester is by far the best in the game right now and if he stays healthy and teams continue to kick to him, will shatter all return TD records.

I imagine you'd give me ammo for insulting you within a matter of minutes, since every third word out of your mouth is borderline moronic.

It's irrelevant what sports I've played as to whether I know anything about football. That logic is terrible...again, no surprise.

Obviously, your very extensive background in sports has given you zero insight at all into this topic, so you've proven my point that which sports you have or have not played is irrelevant to a topic of conversation like this.

Go Dolphins.
Watch it now!
Punter Brad Maynard got the team MVP one season. (2001?)

the guy is incredible, I don't recall anything like it.

his direction changes happen in a fraction of a blink of the eye.

for the record, the team itself is marginal at best.

Maynard actually won his conference player of the year while in college.

Let's all relax with the Maynard love. It is amazingly sad that we are this low as a team that we are actually TALKING about the punter.

Note: he is good though

He's an incredible punt returner, really nothing special as a kick returner. Four kick return TDs in two years is very nice but considering he's broken the four long ones it makes his average look even more average. I'm pretty sure if Terrence McGee didn't have to be an every down player on defense that he would blow Hester away in average (he did average 30.2 in 2005 which is pretty amazing for a full time defender). Hester gains a big advantage in being 100% for every return because he barely plays at all offensively.

I'm not saying what sports you play has any effect on what you know about sports, but don't come on here talking like some expert like Jim Rome tries to do when he was just a fricken tennis player.

I said that Cribbs was a best returner this year, look at these numbers:
Kick Returns
Cribbs- 47 returns, 32.5 yard avg., 1,529 total yards, 2 tds, 100 yard long, 1 fumble.
Hester- 31 returns, 24.8 yard avg., 770 total yards, 2 tds, 97 yard long, 2 fumbles.

Punt Returns
Cribbs- 18 returns, 11.1 yard average, 200 total yards, 0 tds, 0 fumbles.
Hester- 33 returns, 15.9 yard average, 526 yards, 3 tds, 4 fumbles.

Cribbs has the better Kick return numbers, Hester the better punt return numbers. Only difference is Mr. Hester likes to put the ball on the ground.

So Hester has 64 total returns, Cribbs has 65 total returns. Cribbs has 433 more yards, Cribbs has a higher average, Hester has 3 more tds, Cribbs has 5 less fumbles.

I don't think you can be MVP on a team as pathetic as the Bears are this year anyways.

GROSSMAN 4 MVP BABY!!!

Golly, Spartacus. I find it hard to believe that anyone on this board could find you irritating. I'll bet Jonathan Cribbs is praying that your support doesn't translate into the same kind of success it did for Charlie Weiss this year.

And he only has to punt to Hester in practice

The guy has played two years and is already running out of superlatives. Just thought I'd move this back to the front.
