Thanks New York ... for Woodhead
This friggen white midget actually looks like a good weapon in the New England offense.
They ran two draw plays to him out of shotgun today - one resulted in a 22 yard touchdown. The other a 19 yard gain. He's perfect for the draw because he's so small - it's hard to actually find him - and his cuts are out friggen standing .. when a spread team with Moss runs a draw - the middle of the field is totally wide open and there's space everywhere .. you typically get huge gashing runs if you can snake by the pass rush....and he's as perfect as it gets for snaking past the first level in space. Moss does something brilliant on draw plays. He raises his right hand up and calls for Brady to throw him the ball - this gets both the corner and deep safety to bite and they're sprinting with him oblivious to the run play. If Brady keeps spreading the wealth to the open guy - and they start mixing in the draw to Woodhead - we'll see a well oiled machine. Faulk had a good many gashing runs from the draw ... but he's an elephant and his old ass is not exactly shifty. Sure, the defense is a buzzkill ... but I feel good about the offensive machine going forward. Guys were wide ass open all day against the Jets .. but Brady was just too busy being locked in on his crack/cocaine recieving duo. |

Your defense is simply terrible. You can't contend for a championship this year with a defense that is that bad. Sorry

If anybody should be thanking the Jets, it's Seattle. Leon for McKnight was one of the worst trades we've ever made and a real turd in the punch bowl of an otherwise great offseason.

All these rejects will slow down, LT is going to keep this up? Come on man...

I think the guy really wants to win. It was a really good change of scenary for him. Plus he and Greene compliment each other really well. Not to mention he is running behind a good line again. I think LT will be fine.

How's Ryan Mathews doing behind that Charger O-Line? The only people who thought Tomlinson was done were people that didn't understand how important blocking is to a running game. Tomlinson finally has a good line in front of him again and he clearly can still play. You're sour. It's understandable.

Pretty good call on this guy tonight. 8 touches, 49 yards and a TD. Nice change of pace.

Been watching the PATS since they played in Fenway and never seen anything like this. Special teams has a night like no other. Chuck has to be ready to be a Bills fan....

If he was black, the Pats would've cut him before he saw a snap. I'd be pissed, but it's hard when Tomlinson and Greene are so awesome.

The Jets didn't need him. The Pats still have the worst RB collection in the division even with him- but Drugs gets credit for recognizing the skill level of this 5'7" 160 pound midget. He's like the RB version of Wes Welker.

If the kid couldn't play he wouldn't be in the huddle but he seems to have stats that are color blind....Pick 6 for Chung for dessert for maligned Pats D Over for Phil!! Do you think Ryan is blaming someone else for Danny wearing Patriot jersey? Kid is the football version of Daniel Nava, he just gets it done without speed or resume. |

The joke was that people in New England are racist. Anyway, it's been clear if you ever watched Jets preseason/garbage time games that he can play, we just had no room for him behind two #1 backs and with a 4th round bust like McKnight to coddle.

McKnight is on the Jets?

Barely. I actually think he'd be OK as a slot WR and he can return punts well but he's a disaster at RB.

As per today's newspaper reports, he may be the next Bobby Humphrey.

I was kind of laughing watching Woodhead on Hard Knocks thinking he was some kind of complete joke. But, here's what I read about him when the Pats got him: * Insane 4.33 speed and 11.2 60 yard shuttle. Faster than most elite recievers * Reportedly has tremendous cutting ability - similar soccer background as Wes Welker - rushed for 2,700+ in just 13 games as college junior. * Jets even used him a little at wideout despite his tiny size - which indicates he probably has good hands and can catch the ball. 38.5 inch vertical makes up a little bit for lack of size. This guy is Wes Welker with a whole lot more foot speed - and he's one of the greatest small college running backs of all-time. I doubt he was ever going to be useful in the Jets offense... but he's an absolute wet dream of a fit - attacking the middle of the field and running out of shotgun in New England's spread. Kevin Faulk is a big old elephant who was not perfectly suited to this offense. |

Here's the touchdown pass that Woodhead caught yesterday ....
* Moss (AKA Crack) is highlighted with the red box - and he's attacking the safety while cornerback Vonte Davis is covering him. * Welker (AKA Cocaine) is highlighted with the blue box - he's also attacking the saftey ... and since it's 3rd down .. defenses almost always either double Welker or blitz. This leaves the Pats with two dreamy 1-on-1 match-ups in space. * Rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez is one on one with a LB going towards the sidelines. * Danny Woodhead is left 1-on-1 .. in massive open space in the middle of the field ... against a freaking middle linebacker. Woodhead will win this match-up 100% of the time. He's just way too fast and quick for a middle linebacker in space with the middle of the field wide open. Here is what pissed me off in the Jets game during the 2nd half. Brady was pre-occupied with forcing the ball into crack/cocaine ... all while guys like Aaron Hernandez and Branden Tate were wide open and being ignored. |
