As of right now Nyquist. Has two grade 1 wins including the derby and a grade 2 win. Lots of racing left though.

He has too many losses and his grade one wins were perfect setups.

Exaggerator should/would be a slam dunk if voting was today. He would still deserve it even if Arrogate wins the Classic.

Agree all wins in the slop. PA derby will be interesting if both are there. Hopefully it will be dry.

I'll take Arogate. Banking on him training up to the Classic and firing another Traver's like shot.

Fun Race to look forward to..Arrogate, Frosted and Dortmund battling it out all the way and watching Chrome blow by them down the stretch

We will see. He certainly won't be allowed to crawl on the lead like he did 2 weeks ago.

the next step for Chrome, the reigning world champ is the awesome again.

should Arrogant want to step up to older horses...this would be his likely next step

for him to run first time against older in his fourth lifetime start in the BCC is foolishness ...foolishness I say

Does it matter that much my friend? He beat Frosted this year already. its hard to compare races on different tracks. Saratoga was a fast track Saturday but still an impressive win. They all have looked great and should be entertaining if the all hook up. Arrogate has not faced horses like this.

His last race in the Pacific Classic where he horrified both Beholder and Dortmund (who you claimed to be the greatest horse in training prior) would rank up there.

A distant 3rd IMO. Pace was slow, he totally controlled. And unless your totally disregarding beyers how is it not 3rd?

Would win if the voting was today? Maybe. Should win? Possibly. Slam dunk? No way. And if Arrogate won the Classic, he might win it unanimously.

The award says it goes to the best, not most accomplished. I am not sure how anyone could doubt that Arrogate is the best.

Those people who expect the best to have partcipated in and won more than 1 stakes race would most certainly be doubters.

I hear you but I think those people would be the kind that favor consistency. I can understand that but I don't think it takes more than one performance to show how good you are. If we're talking about a marginal win like the horse that won the Jim Dandy, that's one thing. We are talking about an obliteration of a race and an obliteration of the track record in the process.

Forgetting all that, I have another question for you. If you have Arrogate in the field for the Penn Derby with Nyquist and Exaggerator, who are you picking?
