So the whole purpose of racing is to prove yourself in one race?
Have you ever owned a horse?
One that is not on a stick?

You sound like the a-holes that teach organic chemistry.

There are 10-12 (at least) trainers that are having the same type of discussion with their owners. It's just that Casse has an even better excuse than the other 10-11 guys.

Which would you want to tell War of Will's owner, Gary Barber?

"We are gunna have to cut back to a sloppy 8 or 9 furlongs, Gear, Buddy. We are a little short of air going 10f."

or

"We were gunna be right there, if we didn't get brutally fouled. Oh, boy. He would of been right there. I just know it, Gear. Thank God he got taken down. He cost us 2nd or 3rd minimum, minimum. Trust me , pal. He was rolling. "

He's 72 or 73 years old, and could pass for 78. This was his best chance to win a Derby. He repulsed three huge bids in this race. He has nothing to prove to anyone. I wouldn't race him. The point needs to be made that dq's should be reserved for elevating horses that were clearly kept from what otherwise would of been a top placing in the race. That is more important than winning any other race.

The way this was done is making it totally a matter of luck. If he'd of fouled horses than were good, he could of still gotten 3rd money. Because he fouled horses that couldn't get 10f, he got put all the way down to 17th. How is that ( in any way) a standard of punishment?

You need to move on from the Pick-3 skunking in 2005. It's clear that SCUDS has...now it's time for you, like him, to be the better man.

If not, we may have to sentence you to a lifetime of posting on youtube.

Prat got in front of him for a moment, and Max denied that opportunist, as well. He should deny everyone of these sadists any entertainment from seeing this horse run again. Really, this comes down to whether you think War of Will was gunna get 10f if he wasn't bothered. Myself, Beyer, and many others think he wasn't gunna get the distance. That looked like so many horses that just can't get that last 1/8th to 1/16th of a mile in the derby. Casse is making excuses for his horse not getting 10f in that derby. That is what almost every trainer does. It is almost always hopeful hogwash.
Good call on War of Will not getting the distance.

Too bad Maximum Security fouled him so bad in the Derby. We might have had a chance at a Triple Crown in 3 weeks

Lol I doubt that. That was not a good field and he got perfect trip.

The point is it was ridiculous to conclude he “couldn’t get the distance” based on being severely fouled at a key point in the race.

Based on today, who knows what would’ve happened in the Derby.

Funny how it didn’t take long to criticize a horse who showed up 2 weeks after the Derby, while MS is taking his “rest.”

Vindication big time and I couldn’t be happier for the connections.

Disagree. In retrospect War of Will might have been making the winning move in the Derby when he was fouled. Came from the one post in both races. Made is own trip both times.

Hey horse won good for him and connections. This had nothing to do with derby. This Preakness field was maybe worst we have seen in long time. Proven by Everlast finishing second.

Like I said, it’s funny how it took like 5 minutes to downplay his performance. Today proved the horse can stay a distance of ground. Who knows what happens if he isn’t fouled.

Hopefully we get to see them meet again when MS cycles back.

I hope they run against each other again cause tv will eat it up. His performance today was okay but like I said that was a bad bunch of coconuts. I don’t think has any relevance to derby.

Not sure how you don’t see the relevance.

Has War of Will not proved how good he is before today? Those Fair Grounds races has shown to be super live.

I think today’s win was average and still think MS is best three year old and I bet neither in either race. Hopefully we see them compete this summer instead of on derby trail message board

You keep kind of avoiding admitting War of Will is a pretty good horse. Not sure why but the West’s would be very proud of you.
