Default bills hire rex

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12...ext-head-coach

thoughts?
i think it's a mistake to think he can be a head coach. a DC? yes. but i think he just ignores the offense, and especially the QB, too much. he needs to understand that he is severely lacking on that side of the ball insofar as coaching ability. he needs to hire a really good OC, and a really good QB coach. if he doesn't address his problems in that area, his tenure at buf won't be any better than in ny.
i know he has a big ego, hopefully not too big to say 'i need help in this area'.

hence the hiring of Greg Roman as OC. Now the little things like getting a NFL caliber QB and retooling the entire offensive line getting a TE that can catch and replace the ancient Fred Jackson and most likely free agent loss CJ Spiller and they will be good to go

Who wants to bet that the first Jet - Bills game will be nationally televised?

yeah, it's a mess there.
but then, teams don't generally fire their coach unless it is a mess, and then someone else has to come clean it up. now, this wasn't one of those cases, but it's a mess all the same...which is why the coach bailed.

but, hey, they have EJ Manuel...he's nfl caliber, right?

like the manziel start....we watch red zone, which is great-but i did enjoy every time they cut into the browns game so we could see johnny make another mistake, and someone else make his money sign at him.

The biggest winner here is the NY media. The Bills play the Jets twice next year and also the Giants.

Rex has plenty of money so I can't really chide him for a bad decision because either way he's getting paid.

It's still a bad move. I thought going to CBS for a year or two was the right decision. The record against Bellichick could eventually lead to him being a career coordinator after this gig.

Atlanta was the right spot for him. There he could've molded the defense the way he wanted and continued to sleep through every offensive meeting, except this time the offense would take care of itself.

He might be able to sneak the Bills into the playoffs (which I thought they might do next year anyway), but anywhere he needs to develop a QB, he's doomed.

Way over rated as a defensive coach, Jets never stopped anyone on third down plays. His team was sloppy and he always misused timeouts, This Jet fan is glad to see him go. I feel bad for the Bills fans that will have to listen to his hot air for the next few seasons.

I'm very happy with Bowles. He strikes me as Rex without all the ridiculous bluster.

Hopefully, Bowles can be a
"Tony Dungy-type" in the making.....

Rex should have gone to ATL.....

Both Marrone & Orton "got out of town" in a hurry....

No QB in BUF......It will be interesting to see if Sanchez becomes a Bill next...
