If they still had the Triple Crown bonus you wouldn't have horses skipping all these races. $5 MILLION for the Triple Crown winner and $1 million for the point leader. In fact Bodemeister would have competed with that system.

Reflecting back, after a strange prep season, I think this was the most exciting Triple Crown season since the Street Sense - Curlin - Rags to Riches Triple.

That makes it more exciting than what, the last four?

I don't know. Super Saver was pretty thrilling, and who can ever forget the greatness that was IEAH a couple of years before that?

Oh, and what about Mine That Bird! That was totally awesome.

Maybe the single best TC moment of the last five years was the great display of intellect shown by the jockeys in last years Belmont!

This year totally sucked compared to those highlight reel moments.
