Default Saratoga Thursday Aug. 28

Let’s hope Thursday is a lot better than Wednesday…

Race 2:
#3 Identity Crisis: Dirt works haven’t been that bad. Willing to give him a chance trying a fast main track for the first time. Nothing in here convinces, so let’s try a price.

Race 3:
Both of Chad’s FTS (#2 and #5) are the logical uses, but the son of Cosmonaut, #3 Cosmo Storm, intrigues making the switch to turf on the stretch-out.

Race 4:
#4 Ultimate Empire: His form is much better around two-turns, and the conditions weren’t optimal last time. I can see a much better performance this time.
#2 Onecats Chance: Big winner last time. Repeat chance, but may be too short on the tote.

Race 5:
#5 Nutty Futty: Showed his real ability on the stretch-out while barely breaking a sweat. Didn’t beat much, but it was an impressive win. Shipped up to the Spa within a week and is quickly ready to go again. Don’t know much about the connections but he’s got a big upset chance.
#8 International Star: NY-bred won with ease against open-company on debut. Returns to turf while stretching out and should be around at the wire.
#9 Strong Coffee: The first Motion FTS in a turf route at SAR to even run ITM in the past five years. Either outran his ability or is the real deal.
#1 Startup Nation: Impressive kick against NY-breds. Will have to do it against much tougher.

Race 6:
#4 Succesful Brothers: Unlucky in the stretch last Friday. Probably wasn't winning but it for sure affected the margin. Contessa knows how to wheel them back quickly.
#3 Grandpa Len: 1 for 21 doesn’t inspire confidence.
#2 The Candidate: Beaten at odds-on in an awful race. No thanks.

Race 7:
#7 Amazing Anne: Turf and distance is what she wants. Most intriguing in the race for me.
#10 Battle Axe: Ran solid enough first time out and should improve with the distance.
#5 Smilingsundae: Roughed up at the start and in the final furlong in his debut. On this circuit Maker normally has them ready first time rather than second time, but I’ll throw her in the multis.
#8 Moondance Joy: Using her for exotics.

Race 8:
#6 Indian Starlight: Killed off by a brutal pace last time. Prefers this shorter distance and has run well at SAR in the past. Can rate if needed.
#9 Edie: Was a near lock last time and Lanerie almost screwed that up. Irad should give him a better trip and he’s the one to beat.

Race 9:
#5 Heaven’s Runway: Poly specialist ran huge in his first turf start against much tougher in a blazing time. Working extremely well for his return to the green. Price play.
#1, #3, #8 are all logical uses.

Race 10:
#1 King Gettigan: Just missed two back and didn’t have a clean trip last time. Trouble seems to be a continuing theme with him and if he avoids it he will be a maiden no more.
#3 Party On is SCR...
#9 Tapidor is SCR...
#4 Mineral Water: Got the worst of it last time, but Henning is ice at the meet.
#6 Hampden Fiveone: Clear of trouble last time and still barely got past the other two.

Great job handicapping today. Too bad the P4 didn't start in R6. You could have had a cold punch P4

Thanks. Yeah, sometimes the sequences aren't ideal but thank goodness for individual race wagers, doubles, and P3s! Hope everyone had a great day.
