I think Dr Allday's call came in between 445 and 5.

Glad those that heard tonight's show enjoyed it. It was, simply put, quite something.

Between Dr. Allday's surprise visit and incrimination of Rick Dutrow; Attorney Angela Ford's update on the charging order that awarded 20% of Curlin to her clients; KY Head Steward John Veitch's call-in about falsifying workouts; and the scheduled guests, it was a rather wild 3 hours... Unexpected.. Unscripted..

Allday opened up Pandora's Box. He knew he was live and on-air. He called in to do it!

Only fair Dutrow gets equal time if he wants.

Edit: and I'll listen to that show ....

What is Dutrow going to say? he is screwed because the whole world thinks he is a cheater, and now someone with proof is showing he is. And from what I understand, he is a respectable person also. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Just listened to the archive and Allday did drop a bomb. Wow.

I'm not completely up on the matter, nor do I know the day to day goings on in a Vet's world, but isn't Allday more than a bit dirty here too? I'm in no way defending Dutrow or condone any cheating in the sport, but what are the ethics here as a Vet when he or she sees illegal things are going on (Dr. Riot help me out here)? If Allday had a problem with what was going on in Dutrow's barn, he should have immediately quit and refused to take money from him.

Blowing the whistle now, just sounded like sour grapes from a former employee (if that is what you would call a vet doing work on a trainer's horses, maybe contractor is a better term) to me.

Thanks to Steve for the best show about horse racing on radio or TV.

I just listened to the show, and have the same question that bigsmc raised, why now? isn't the Dr a regular guest on the show? shouldn't he have brought this up before? It also makes me a little suspect when someone keeps using the phrase "I'm not going to lie for the guy". something seems fishy to me why it was so suddenly and bluntly brought to light.

I don't doubt any of the claims about Dutrow though. The situation with Wild Desert should have been investigated and if true to me would warrant a lifetime ban.

I agree regarding Dutrow.

What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law. We can't continue to have people in this sport thumbing their nose at even the most basic rules of the game or horse racing will quickly head down the same road as the most corrupt sport out there, boxing.

a lifetime ban....

that would drop a bomb on the industry for sure. certainly serve as a wake up call to some other trainers out there, who need to be rudely awakened!!

My guess is because it is back in the news. Dr.A probably thought the lid would be blown off this long ago. Since it wasn't and it became topical again he chose to speak out in a forum he was comfortable with.

Look I am not a journalist but sure seemed like there was a chance there to get even more information, when Allday calms down his lips will clam up. I was hoping to here things like, and I am paraphrasing from memory

Allday "I have see lots of things in that barn"

follow should have been "can you go into some of the things you have seen?"

you dont get many chances to find someone in a emotional state ready to say just about anything, once the press gets to him(if they do, not exactly woodward and bernstein here) he is going to downplay it and wont answer questions at that point.
