It only takes this Phillies team an inning or two to do its damage. And Maddon can only throw Wheeler out there so many times. TB's starting pitching might be the goods, but it's that 3rd time around (6th or 7th inning) when that ball becomes as big as a softball for the Philly hitters. That, along with the wretched bullpen of the Rays, makes me lean towards...(I wont say it)

C'MON PHILS!!!!!!!!!!!!! WIN THIS ONE FOR HARRY K. (and the 100's of thousands of other starving fans)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL when I was leaving the Birds/Skins game a couple weeks ago at the Vet, and everyone was PISSED at Reid (which they should be, Reid Sucks hairy balls most of the time), I heard someone say, "ya know its bad when Charlie Manuel is the smartest manager in Philly".

Funny but True!

Uncly...Manuel doesn't play the book...he plays what he feels inside will work...and he is close to the players......you would never see him deep six a player like Brandon Phillips. He doesn't need you to brown nose him....just play good.

I love some of the things Manuel does, like when he benched Rollins for not running his fastest to first base... How many managers would bench their NL MVP like that?

He really gets his men to play hard for him and I'm very happy he's the Phils manager.

But he's never been known for his brains... that is why its funny to say he's the smartest manager in Philly!

I do understand you, beautiful, but what I'm trying to say is the guy is smart.

Most people can't see that because they have been taught to think superficially only.

They are not hairy!

He'll turn the ship around as he always does.

We'll see. IF, and its a big IF, Reid ever learns how to use time outs correctly and IF he lets his OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR call the plays, and IF hes stops being such a dumb bitch and saying **** like "Oh this is a learning experience", or "We will have to learn from that", or ANYTHING that has to do with learning.... Then maybe I'll like him.

Not true Mort. I, throughout the year, was staunch in blaming him for the team's woes. He totally exceeded my expectations and has gained my full trust and backing. The players seem to want to play for him, give him their all, a stark contrast to when Bowa was in charge. Manuel has my vote of confidence, and could be one of the better managers there is out there. He also has great coaches under him.
