I'm as big a fan of his as any, but even I realize he has absolutely NO shot to win the Derby. It's quite obvious there is NO way that he gets the distance. He could be a nice miler on the weeds though. Wrong surface and wrong distance. If Pletcher's gun was loaded for the derby, I'm sure he'd opt out of it for CC and find a more suitable race.

I don't know if Cowboy Cal can't be a dirt horse.

His dam is a Seeking The Gold half to Behrens... and he's very closely related to Commentator.

As bad as he ran in his debut - he did have a tough trip and it did have the look of a non-effort through the stretch.

I just don't think he projects well at all from a pace standpoint - and the 10f distance is a little much.

LMAO...Although I am keeping mine deep down in my wallet, just incase the other 18 or 19 horses hit some plywood.

For a minute I thought the Cav's tailgate website you have in your signature was run by the legendary bar I worked at in Philly... Cavanaughs in UC.

Not the same one, but I've been there many times as well. 39th and Chestnut or Sansom, right? Frequented it when my brother went to Drexel and lived on the cusp on West Philly. (44th st.) Great place to throw some back and watch the games...
