I agree the race was unbettable, but is that the fault of NYRA or the trainers and owners that leave their horses in the barns? The race is a $200K Grade II, what more can NYRA do but put up the money? I always wonder why trainers with second tier horses don't enter them when there are going to be small fields in these graded races where you can get a nice check if you can plug up for 3rd or 4th, and who knows, maybe even have crazy things happen and steal a win. Instead, they keep their horses in the barn for weeks or months looking for that huge effort in NW1 or 2.
