Hip 414, colt by Twirling Candy – Ghost Dancing, by Silver Ghost. Consigned by Stone Farm. $950,000-Cromwell B/S

Twirling Candy is in the midst of a career year, with runners such as Gift Box and Concrete Rose. Stakes winner Ghost Dancing is the dam of Grade 1 winners Ascend and Roadster, as well as Grade 3-placed Moro Tap.

Keertana won five graded stakes and placed in eight others while becoming a millionaire. She is the dam of Grade 3 winner Ticonderoga. Keertana is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Diversy Harbor and Grade 3 winner Snow Top Mountain – both of those, like Keertana, Grade 1-placed. Snow Top Mountain, the dam of Grade 3 winner Greyvitos, is represented by her Frosted filly consigned as Hip 94.

The blue hen Leslie’s Lady is the dam of four-time Eclipse Award heroine Beholder, globe-trotting Grade 1 winner Mendelssohn, and Grade 1 winner Into Mischief, the nation’s leading sire. Three of her daughters have produced stakes horses, led by Daisy Mason, dam of stakes winner Harry’s Holiday and Grade 3-placed Remedy. Mendelssohn topped the 2016 edition of this sale at $3 million, and another of Leslie’s Lady’s foals, Leslie’s Harmony, was a seven-figure yearling. Leslie’s Harmony’s second foal, a Speightstown filly, immediately precedes this filly into the ring.

Multiple Grade 1 winner Love and Pride sold for $4.9 million as a broodmare and is the dam of a $1.3 million yearling sold here three years ago. Love and Pride is out of Grade 1-placed Ile de France, who in turn is out of Grade 1 winner and prominent produce Cara Rafaela, the dam of champion Bernardini.

This is a half-brother to Group 2 winner and multiple Group 1-placed Storm the Stars. Love Me Only is a half-sister to European Horse of the Year and leading sire Giant’s Causeway and to Group 2 winner You’resothrilling, dam of Group 1 winners Gleneagles, Happily, and Marvellous. Another yearling from this immediate family, by American Pharoah, is cataloged as Hip 386. Another War Front colt from the family comes up later as Hip 530; that one is out of Irish 1000 Guineas winner Marvellous.

Group 2 winner Magical Dream’s first runner is the winner Royal Navy Warship, a full brother to this colt. Magical Dream, out of Group 1 winner Red Evie, is a full sister to Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Found and to group stakes winner Best in the World.

This is a half-sister to unbeaten multiple Grade 1 winner Guarana and to stakes winner Magic Dance. The second dam is Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Pleasant Home, making this the outstanding extended family of champion Sky Beauty and other standouts.

Group 1-placed Maryinsky is the dam of European champion Peeping Fawn and Group 1 winner Thewayyouare. Peeping Fawn has gone on to produce multiple Grade 1/Group 1-placed stakes winner September. Maryinsky is out of Kentucky Oaks winner Blush With Pride, making her a half-sister to Better Than Honour, dam of Belmont Stakes winners Rags to Riches and Jazil. Multiple Grade 1-placed Miss Besilu is a half-sister to Horse of the Year Saint Liam, as well as to Grade 1 winner Funtastic, graded stakes winners Quiet Giant and Congessionalhonor, and stakes winner Dance Quietly. Quiet Giant is the dam of Horse of the Year Gun Runner. Another daughter, Beatem Buster, is the dam of Grade 1 winner Buster’s Ready, while Quiet Now is the dam of graded stakes-winning millionaire Lull.

Miss Macy Sue’s filly Matera sold for $1.4 million here last year and recently ran third on debut at Del Mar.
