Hip 192, filly by Medaglia d’Oro – Wilshewed, by Carson City. Consigned by Valkyrie Stud, agent for William and Betty Currin Trust. RNA ($450,000)

This filly has the unfortunate position of being the second horse in the ring, but is fortunate to be a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Stormello, graded stakes winners Gala Award and My Best Brother, Grade 1-placed stakes winner Cherry Lodge, and Grade 3-placed Greatest Game. Important for her residual value as a broodmare, she also is a half-sister to two mares who have produced stakes-placed runners.

Hip 193, filly by Tapit – Winter Memories, by El Prado. Consigned by Darby Dan Farm. OUT

This filly’s first two dams, Winter Memories and Memories of Silver, are both multiple Grade 1 winners and stakes producers. This is a full sister to Winter Sunset, a stakes winner and multiple Grade 3-placed. Five of Memories of Silver’s daughters have gone on to be stakes producers, including Grade 3 winner La Cloche, dam of Grade 3 winner Bellavais. A full sibling to Bellavais will sell later in Book 1, as Hip 480.

Grade 1 winner Acoma is a granddaughter of Althea, from the family of the legendary broodmare Courtly Dee. Appearing on this catalog page are champions Festival of Light and Yamanin Paradise and Grade 1 winners Arch and Covfefe. The latter is one of several recent runners on the track for this active family, along with graded stakes winner Campaign.

Hip 206, colt by Tapit – African Jade, by Seeking the Gold. Consigned by Clearsky Farms. RNA ($625,000)

African Jade, who is out of Argentinean champion Miss Linda, is the dam of three winners from as many starters, led by multiple Grade 1 winner Lord Nelson. He is by Tapit’s sire Pulpit. Miss Linda, who also was a Grade 1 winner in the United States, is a half-sister to Argentinean champion Mr. Nancho and to the dam of Grade 1/Group 1 winners Carina Mia and Miss Match.

This colt is a half-brother to Grade 1/Group 1 winners Balmont and Eskendereya, as well as to Wear Red, dam of stakes winner Jessica Krupnick. Eskendereya has gone on to sire multiple Grade 1 winner Mitole.

This is the first foal out of Grade 1 winner Angela Renee, who sold for $3 million as a broodmare prospect. She is a full sister to multiple Grade 1 winner To Honor and Serve, and a half-sister to Grade 1-placed stakes winner Elnaawi. This is the immediate family of Grade 2 winner India, dam of Group 1 winner Mozu Ascot.

This is the first crop for Frosted, a multiple Grade 1-winning son of Tapit who had breakout results at the boutique Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale, with three yearlings selling for $500,000 or more. Grade 1 winner Appealing Zophie is the dam of Belmont Stakes winner Tapwrit, a seven-figure yearling by Tapit, as well as Grade 2 winner Ride a Comet.

This is the second crop for Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, a blockbuster commercial success with his first crop which has gone on to make him a leading freshman sire. Grade 2-placed Arienza is out of Horse of the Year Azeri, also the dam of Grade 2 winner Wine Princess and Group 2-placed Leukerbad.

This is a half-sister to Hartnell, who has won four Group 1 races and placed in 10 others while facing the likes of Winx. She also is a half-sister to Group 1-placed stakes winner Roz, and it is the family of European champion Suave Dancer.

This is the second foal out of Group 1 winner Diamondsandrubies, whose dam is Group 1 winner Quarter Moon, dam of three other stakes horses, including Group 1-placed runner and group stakes producer You’ll Be Mine. Quarter Moon is a full sister to Group 1 winner Yesterday, and a half- or full sister to three other stakes horses. This family also is represented earlier in Book 1 by Hip 339, a Tapit yearling out of another of Quarter Moon’s daughters.

Eblouissante is a half-sister to Horse of the Year Zenyatta, and this is one of just two yearlings in the catalog by prominent international sire Dubawi.
