Your guess is accurate. This sounds like a discussion that we have had on previous occasions. Multi track all stakes cards just don't seem to work for our contest format most of the time. I've been guilty of imposing on our scorers' and players' time to have an all stakes contest, but in my opinion that should be limited to special days such as when there might be 3 or more final preps for the KY Derby or on that Super Saturday in early October when multiple tracks are hosting major final preps for the BC. The stakes races from Santa Anita are very good, but just don't rise to that level.
Of course, nothing prevents a player from handicapping, betting on and watching any or all of the SA stakes races or for that matter the Gotham from Aqueduct even though they aren't part of our contest.. I'll post our contest venue in a short while.
