Jeremy Rose's whipping suspension cut in half

The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission today cut jockey Jeremy Rose's suspension from six months to three months in the wake of a horse whipping incident June 23 at Delaware Park.
The commission had suspended Rose for extreme misuse of the whip against the mare Appeal to the City. Video showed Rose whipping the horse in the face as she came down the stretch to a third-place finish. Rose said the he accidentally struck Appeal to the City in the face and eye.
