there's no reason why it takes so long for a returning injured vet to get his disability pay. since the dod and va handle the SAME people, they really should get their act together! it makes absolutely NO sense that their computer systems can't even communicate with each other.
as soon as the DOD removes a soldier or sailor from active duty due to disability, the case, intact, should immediately move to the VA with all the various work already completed.
but let's not kid ourselves. they make it damnably difficult to thwart people from collecting. and that's the biggest shame of all.
