Well, what can I say. it's been a disaster of a carnival for me so far and looking how tough this card is, there is every chance it'll get worse before it gets better! After she ran the other week I noted Magrooma as a possible max bet when she started next, so I see her in today and my eyes light up....... but Soumillon on Mensoora?! That puts a complete different spin on the race. However, I'll stick with Magrooma.

Reading through my selections I've written down, I need MdK to have an outstanding week...... perhaps putting all my eggs in one basket??

Best bet is Star Empire - he looks very suited to this.

Artigiano looks massive each way value to me, he's bred to appreciate the surface, and despite only winning the one race he showed last year he is more than capable in a race like this, especially after an encouraging debut this year. However, I cannot go against African Story, his record fresh is simply superb and although some are questioning the distance, every time he has raced he has been staying on over the mile and ever in the DWC he kept on well in the closing stages. He should get the trip no problems, but the question is, will he be ready for the step up in distance first up?
