Well, a frustrating end to the campaign. Applaud Alvarado trying to leave Toy Cannon with less work to do by attending the pace, but as has been speculated previously, he doesn't finish with the same rush when part of the front half of the field. He has to be allowed to settle (dawdle) early and come with one run and that wouldn't have worked Thursday either.

After making just one start at 2 and one at 3, the handsome gelding finishes the season 9/0-4-0 running monthly since the season opener at Gulfstream in March. If nothing else, he was consistent registering Beyers of 79-78-77-77-78-78-75-78-73 over the course of the year.

Toy Cannon will head back to Richard Kent in Ocala for a winter break. Likely to work toward similar plan as this year with prep late at Gulfstream before NY turf season in April. Thanks to Paul Pompa and everyone on the Mott team who made 2013 such a fun year with TC.
