as for how martin should have handled it. the team management told these players to toughen up martin; martin was to single-handedly handle being bullied, when the bully(s) were acting at the behest of management? that's a laugh.
if the coach wanted martin to be more of a team player, perhaps he should have discussed it with martin, rather than turning him over to a mob.
