Did you see the head on? From about midstretch, where the COMPETE starts, the 8 continually gets out, ending up 5 or 6 paths further out than when the COMPETE started. The 1 loses by a nose. made ALL the difference. Most tracks that comes down with half as much done, but at NY that stays every time. Dominguez is smart because he knows he can get away with it, but it is a clear foul. Even on the pan you can see the 1 take what looks like a misstep at about the 8th pole, head goes up a bit as the 8 comes over. If Ortiz checks hard there Ramon comes down, but instead he just COMPETES because he still thinks he probably had the better horse, not knowing the 8 was gonna keep getting out even more. That's just a foul. Period.
