In fact, absentee ballot casters are more likely to vote GOP (one of the reasons you don't see any GOP officials bringing up election fraud via absentee ballot which is much easier to commit than in-person fraud), so statistically speaking, he was more likely to have cast a vote for Romney.
I think it's sweet he was determined to do his civic duty, even towards the end of his life. Even if he voted for Romney.
