This is why I LOVE watching politics
Update: Debate time: 7:00-8:00 ET
Watch and/or listen: The debate will stream live on CBSBoston.com. It will also be on C-Span 3

Tonight is the first debate between candidates for Senate in Mass., incumbent R-Scott Brown, and challenger D-Elizabeth Warren, who created the Consumer Protection Bureau in the Obama administration (but wasn't allowed to head it by Republican obstructionism to her appointment)
Brown has been leading Warren in the polls until she spoke at the Dem convention, now Warren is leading Brown.
Scheduling Warren vs. Brown debates was difficult, as Brown didn't want to do any at all. He succumbed to public pressure to debate Warren.
Today, Scott Brown notified the press he would possibly miss the debate, due to Senate votes he had to make today:

MASS. SENATE: Scott Brown says he will miss tonight's debate if he has to because of Senate votes... #mapoli

Brown has an excellent and admirable Senate attendance record, only missing one Senate vote due to a missed airplane flight in the past.
But then Senate Leader Harry Reid heard about this, and took to the Senate floor and talked to the press:
Quote:

“We have no more votes today. No more votes today. It’s obvious to me what’s going on,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the top Democrat in the chamber. “I’ve been to a few of these rodeos. It is obvious there is a big stall taking place. One of the senators who had a debate tonight doesn’t want to debate. Well, he can’t use the Senate as an excuse. There will be no more votes today.”

Minority Republican Leader Mitch McConnell tried to get Reid to back off so Brown could miss the debate with Warren:
Quote:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid interrupted proceedings on the Senate floor to announce there would be no more votes Thursday afternoon, delaying action on pressing issues like funding the government.
(snip)
Reid’s maneuver came moments after the Boston Globe quoted Brown saying he’d skip the debates if called on for Senate business. His move came as a surprise to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who appeared on the floor shortly after Reid to request evening votes proceed as scheduled. Reid objected.

But now looks like Brown is stuck debating his challenger Warren tonight.
Not sure where one can view this debate at this time, still looking.
(You may now commence the obligatory RWNJ false flag attack on Warren regarding her heritage)
