Those two candidates are polar opposites on every social issue, and the major financial ones.
Libertarian is much closer, philosophically-speaking, to liberal than conservatives on social issues; on financial they are opposite.
I agree I wish there were strong third parties still around as decades ago.

That's why I no longer will vote for conservatives as I have my whole life. Their policies have failed. But that is why I am voting
for progressivism.
