You can get to Monmouth from NYC by either train or boat. (The ferry is neat.) I used the train once this summer -- Haskell Day -- and I believe it took about 1 1/2 hours. The train delivers you to the backstretch of the track.

Monmouth is a speed favoring one mile oval, and a very nice place to watch the races. It draws a beach crowd, since so many people are on the Jersey Shore during the summer. It's small, though, and I'm unsure how it will hold up during Breeders' Cup week in terms of seating.
thanks,
yeah I play Monmouth sometimes and like you say, its spd favoring.

can they even run a 12f turf race at that track?
not sure its configured to do so.

I wonder how open the Euros are going to be to it?
cold weather, but thats a tight turf course from what I have seen.

no reason to hold it at any track besides Belmont, CD, Arlington or GP imo.
