That sucks for Ohio racing people. That could mean a lot of people leaving
Ohio for more lucrative purses in Pennsylvania and the demise of Ohio racing. This means the trainers from Thistledowns could start running their horses at Presque Isle Downs in Erie which is supposed to start racing in Sept 2007. The slots are going to start ringing Nov 14 in Pa. at Pocono Downs and possibly 2-3 other tracks before the end of the year. Now in Maryland there might be a good chance of getting slots now because the Republican Gov. Ehrlich lost. He was a huge supporter of Racing in Md. and never got it past because the Dems. were playing party politics. Hopefully now they will stop fighting against each other pass a slots bill, if they don't Maryland racing is heading down a dead end road with a lot of horsemen moving their stock to Pa.. We moved our two mares out Md. now there in Pa. to take advantage of Pa. Bred bonuses. But we still breed to Md. Stallions which are more superior than Pa. stallions to be eligible for Maryland Million Races and take advantage of also Delaware Certified program in which a weanling or yearling has to be stabled in Delaware for 90 days at farm and you become eligible for 15% purse bonus for running first, second, and third in any race at Del Park with there big purses. Now are horses are Pa. Bred, Maryland Million eligible and Delaware certified
