First Breeder's Cup in person, 3rd as a follower of the sport. Had seats right up on the fence in Section 122, Row A, looking directly across at the eighth pole. Having the Distaff & Mile start right infront of us, seeing the Classic runners pass us twice, and seeing most of the horses pass before us before each race was absolutely incredible as a fan (as was having Todd Pletcher be 2 feet away as he walked by us, but unfortunately that was on the way to check on Fleet Indian so it wasn't a "cool" moment for sure).

It was by far the best day wagering I ever had, hitting 6 of the 8 races, including the first two Pick 3's, and all 5 dirt races. Was able to see up close and personal that the track was being scraped, and although I put my Pick 3's in before going to the track, I was able to put some extra $$ on Street Sense & Thor's Echo based on how the track was playing. The only thing that marred the day obviously was Pine Island's death, as she had been my top choice in the Distaff. Had no idea she even broke down until someone in the row behind me got a call from a friend at home.

It was my first time in Louisville, and everything on the trip couldn't have gone any better. Got there Thursday morning so I was able to watch the L'Ville-WV game at 4th St. Live with the local fans. Only bad thing on the whole trip happened after the game when one drunk fan picked up his buddy on his shoulders and fell into a friend of mine, spilling booze all over him and almost getting everybody seriously hurt. When my friend told him to be a little more careful, he responds "What do you expect, you're in a bar. Go F yourself." At home he would've just knocked the drunk out, but we just walked away because after hitting a guy in a Louisville shirt, there was no way we would have walked out of there in one piece that night . Everyone else we ran into down there was VERY nice however.

Spent Fri-Sun at Churchill and fell in love with the place for obvious reasons. Did Millionaire's Row on Friday which was a very cool experience. Avoided the line problems on Saturday by putting a lot of bets in online before leaving the hotel, and the rest in by phone thru Brisbet while I was at the track. Only got food once and that wasn't a problem. Definitely wouldn't have a problem with them having the Cup here once every 3 years.

All in all a wonderful trip. Already looking forward to next year when they'll be having it in my backyard at Monmouth Park!
