While his positive comments towards O'Neill help balance the negativity out of the NY Times, it runs counter to the facts. O'Neill has multiple positive TCO2 tests from multiple jurisdictions as well as positives for therapeutic medications and medications you aren't supposed to give horses. I know how they can call him an honest trainer. If he's a cheater, then, there's nothing in it for them. There is usually a self-serving component involved when one wants to ignore cheating. There is simply not enough (hardly any, actually) objectivity in this sport. Almost all the people involved in policing it (and reporting on it) have multiple conflicts of interest involved.
