Maybe a horse like Bernardini being a miserable failure in the shed would encourage more owners in the future to hold off on the shed and let their horse realize its' potential on the track since he's no sure thing in the shed.

Thats a naive way of thinking. There's been many blueblood "cant miss" stallions that were horrible disasters at stud. One more failure isnt going to change the breeding industry... in fact, its expected.
