Veering in at the start doesn't really compromise the chances of GW, or at least the effect it would have on GW pales in comparison to the amount of damage it could possibly do to Bernardini.
I've heard the explanation for running in the BCC rather than the BCM as being "Winning the BCM would not do as much for his stud value".. I believe that's partly true, but I feel like the other reason is to see if they can beat the supposedly invincible Darley horse.
All I'm saying is watch the break closely. I hope I'm wrong and no funny business goes on, but I'm leery.
