I know you like to be a contrarian but he looked like a miler the other day.
Naturally very fast horses -- and horses who don't rate very kindly are the ones who struggle most making the step up to a two-turn route.
The day he won his debut by 14 at Saratoga -- there was a speed bias that day and JRV basically had to gun him and he was ridden to make a length lead. He was ridden a bit in the King's Bishop to keep from falling off the pace.
I don't think he has as much raw speed as a lot of people seem to think.
