The interstate highway system was originally built for defense. And if you read my post again I said the government should be in the governing and
defense businesses.
Illinois toll booths and tollways are run by IL not the Fed though like every state agency they get their share of fed grade A pork. Now if I had to pay an IL toll passing through North Dakota I'd consider it a problem.
