Yep about your first point because a horse who closes can't help the fractions; if they are slow, a fast time is all but impossible.

Of course I agree about Bertrando as well.

Either way, I was very upset when both were retired early, though I think I was a lot more upset with Bernardini. They both would have been better 4 year olds.
